About The Position

Counsel's mission is to multiply the world's healthcare capacity by building the first fully-vertical, AI-native medical group. They are developing a new front door to primary care that is AI-augmented, physician-supervised, and available 24/7. This involves a messaging-first experience for patients, paired with an AI clinician cockpit for doctors, leading to partnerships with healthcare enterprises. The Senior Frontend Engineer will play a central role in shaping the product experiences for patients and physicians. This is a hybrid role located in NYC or Boston.

Requirements

5+ years of building production frontend software (startup or high-growth environment experience is a plus)
Deep fluency in TypeScript/JavaScript/CSS; strong command of React and Next.js for managing complex state and component architecture.
A sharp eye for detail and expertise in using CSS, animation, design systems, and always deliver beautiful, highly performant interfaces
Familiarity with AI/ML and how recent developments in LLMs apply to real-world product challenges
A genuine interest in up-leveling both your own skills and the team around you

Experience with Node.js or React Native.

Responsibilities

Craft user interfaces for brand new paradigms of AI-enabled care that improve patient engagement and outcomes
Co-create and own meaningful product experiences across our patient app and physician-facing care delivery platform, ensuring they are polished, performant, and accessible
Shape frontend architecture: design systems, state management, responsiveness, testing, and web performance
Partner with our ML research and backend teams: Bring cutting-edge AI/LLM techniques into clinical workflows and translate them into product experiences
Work closely with internal Product, Clinical and Design as well as prominent healthcare organizations nationwide
