About The Position

Justworks is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Front End to join its Frontend Engineering team and build products and capabilities that power Justworks products. The role focuses on customer-facing applications and internal and public-facing frontend web apps, with attention to performance, security, design fidelity, and user experience. The engineer will work primarily with JavaScript and TypeScript and contribute to reliable, modular systems that support collaboration across teams. The position involves gathering requirements, partnering with a team lead and colleagues to deliver clean, effective, on-brand experiences, researching design patterns, and proposing technical solutions to web UI/UX problems. The engineer will code, test, and deploy modern web apps, and help hire and develop the growing team. Success depends on sound judgment, resourcefulness, teamwork and communication, influence and leadership, and an ability to learn and apply relevant technical knowledge. The base wage range for this position based in the New York City office is $188,000–$242,000 per year. Actual compensation depends on factors including skills, relevant experience, and work location.

Requirements

At least 7 years of experience in frontend development.
Mastery of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Mastery of at least one frontend framework, such as React or Vue.
Working knowledge of at least one server-side language, such as Ruby, Python, or Golang.
Experience building web applications and ramping up quickly on an existing product.
Ability to build reliable, modular systems that support collaboration.
Strong sense of design and commitment to a high-quality user experience.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
Experience with customer-facing applications.
Familiarity with the listed technologies: Vue 3, Vite, PostCSS, Playwright, Node, Fastify, Golang, MySQL, AWS, and Git.
