About The Position

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Build team. This team is responsible for transforming AI-built prototypes into enterprise-grade services. The role involves assessing, hardening, and rebuilding prototypes using AI-native development practices. Engineers on this team work directly with business partners to translate workflows into adopted software, ensuring services meet high standards for security, reliability, and compliance. The position is based in the Menlo Park, CA office, with a hybrid work model requiring at least 3 days per week in the office. Robinhood emphasizes the value of in-person collaboration for innovation and community building.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building and running production backend or full-stack systems.
  • A track record of independently delivering high-ambiguity projects end-to-end.
  • Hands-on cloud experience, preferably GCP, including containerized services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code, with a focus on a serverless stack.
  • Demonstrated AI-native development skills, including daily fluency with agentic coding tools, experience building LLM-powered applications or agentic workflows, and the judgment to review, harden, and productionize AI-generated code.
  • Product sense and scoping discipline to identify valuable components of prototypes and complete engagements efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication skills with non-engineers, comfortable embedding with business partners and translating technical concepts accurately.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries, particularly finance or fintech, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess prototypes from across the company and make technical decisions on hardening, rebuilding, or redirecting them, owning the outcome end-to-end.
  • Design, build, and ship services on Robinhood's enterprise platforms, adhering to the company's standards for secure and reliable enterprise software.
  • Utilize AI-native development practices, driving agents through assessment, porting, and test scaffolding, and shipping MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills as production artifacts.
  • Collaborate directly with sponsoring business units (Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance) to translate real workflows into adopted software.
  • Deliver clean operational handoffs, including runbooks, evaluations, and dashboards, as part of the definition of done.
  • Establish paved patterns with the Enterprise Platforms team, turning recurring solutions into platform capabilities.
  • Enhance AI-era engineering quality through rigorous review of AI-generated code, both personal and from others.
