RobinhoodMenlo Park, CA

About The Position

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Build team. This team is responsible for turning AI-built prototypes into enterprise-grade services. The role involves assessing AI-generated prototypes, rebuilding them to meet production standards (SSO, audit logging, secrets management, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, security review), and working directly with business partners. The position is based in Menlo Park, CA, with a requirement to be in the office at least 3 days per week. The company emphasizes in-person work to foster progress, innovation, and community.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building and running production backend or full-stack systems.
  • Track record of independently delivering high-ambiguity projects end-to-end.
  • Hands-on cloud depth, GCP preferred, including containerized services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code, with a strong focus on a serverless stack.
  • Demonstrated AI-native development: daily fluency with agentic coding tools, experience building LLM-powered applications or agentic workflows, and the judgment to review, harden, and productionize AI-generated code.
  • Product sense and scoping discipline to identify valuable prototype components and deliver engagements efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication skills with non-engineers, comfortable embedding with business partners and translating technical concepts accurately.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries, particularly finance or fintech, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess prototypes from across the company and make technical decisions on whether to harden, rebuild, or redirect, then own the outcome end-to-end.
  • Design, build, and ship services on Robinhood's enterprise platforms, meeting company standards for secure, reliable enterprise software.
  • Drive AI-native development by guiding agents through assessment, porting, and test scaffolding, and shipping MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills as production artifacts.
  • Work directly with sponsoring business units (Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance) to translate real workflows into adoptable software.
  • Deliver clean operational handoffs, including runbooks, evaluations, and dashboards.
  • Establish paved patterns with the Enterprise Platforms team by creating platform capabilities from recurring solutions.
  • Raise the bar on AI-era engineering quality through rigorous review of AI-generated code.
