Senior Software Engineer, Data Ingest
About The Position
Tabs is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Data Ingest team, part of our broader Integrations org. This team's mission is to handle any source, any data — from real-time CRM sync to usage events and streams to the customer and commercial graph that ties it all together. Data volumes are expected to grow sharply as merchants shift to AI-era, usage-based billing, and this team's usage-to-billing pipeline and CRM integrations need to scale to meet it. This is a senior individual contributor role today, with potential for technical leadership as the team expands.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience with TypeScript or a similar language, and a willingness to work across the stack.
- Enjoy owning systems end-to-end, from first design doc to fixing production edge cases weeks later.
- Care deeply about correctness and long-term maintainability, but don’t let that stop you from shipping a useful initial version and learning from it.
- Systems thinking: ability to spot patterns across different issues, understand true requirements, and see common architectural solutions.
- Curiosity about domains you don't already understand - like accounting!
- Ability to disagree respectfully, explain reasoning, and change your mind when the data supports it.
- Excellent engineers who are good teammates.

- Experience with high volume data ingest.
Responsibilities
- Own pieces of the usage-to-billing pipeline: ingesting raw usage events, aggregating them, and turning datapoints into dynamic pricing.
- Build and scale real-time CRM ingestion (Salesforce, HubSpot today) toward a platform that can onboard any new data source without custom code.
- Design and extend the customer and commercial graph — the semantic model that represents our customers and their customers across Tabs.
- Work across the full stack — front-end configuration surfaces like an in-app workflow builder, as well as backend and event ingest infrastructure.
- Level up the engineers around you by setting the technical bar, mentoring, and learning from those around you, and shaping the team's culture.
