Senior Software Engineer - C++

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20) development experience.
- Strong understanding of: Object-oriented design, Memory management, RAII, Smart pointers, Multithreading and concurrency, STL, Exception safety.
- Experience developing software on Linux platforms.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience designing large-scale, maintainable software architectures.
- Experience leading technical projects from design through production.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction across teams.
- Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Boulder, CO office.
Nice To Haves
- Experience developing software for robotics or hardware control systems.
- Experience with enterprise storage systems, SAN, NAS, or tape technologies.
- Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IP and REST APIs.
- Experience with Boost or other modern C++ libraries.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance production software using modern C++.
- Architect and implement complex software for robotics, storage systems, and hardware control.
- Design scalable, maintainable, and testable software using modern object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
- Develop software for Linux-based enterprise storage platforms.
- Drive technical direction and influence architectural decisions across multiple products.
- Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Firmware, Hardware Engineering, Test Engineering, and Customer Support throughout the development lifecycle.
- Continuously improve software quality through automated testing, code reviews, refactoring, and engineering best practices.
- Lead root cause analysis of complex customer issues and drive permanent corrective actions.
- Champion software quality, maintainability, and performance across the engineering organization.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, and engineering practices that improve product quality and development efficiency.
