About The Position

NinjaOne is hiring a Senior C++ Software Engineer for its Platform & Asset Management team. The team develops products that let customers build and maintain knowledge bases, create custom checklists and fields, manage apps and services, track software licenses, discover assets, and gain visibility into unmanaged devices. The role focuses on the endpoint agent and extending support across customer environments, with software relied upon by more than 40,000 customers. The engineer will design and implement scalable features, improve platform performance, and support critical functionality across the product suite. NinjaOne’s technology stack includes Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, and Postgres, with a cloud service running on AWS. The position is remote for eligible U.S. residents in specified states, with hybrid options at offices in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Florida. Onsite interviews may be required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
At least 7 years of systems-level C++ engineering experience using C++14 or newer; C++17 is preferred.
Strong Linux systems programming experience, including service management, process management, and inter-process communication.
Strong macOS systems experience, including Apple Endpoint Security framework, launchd, macOS configuration profiles, or equivalent OS-level configuration APIs.
Expertise designing and implementing high-performance, multithreaded applications.
Experience with CMake and vcpkg, or equivalent C++ build and dependency systems.
Comfort designing and evolving multiprocess C++ architectures.
Experience with SQLite or embedded database patterns for local state persistence.
Ability to write design documents, define IPC contracts, and drive technical decisions with limited supervision.
Ability to develop comprehensive test cases and test plans that thoroughly cover functional requirements.
Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements.
Experience working with highly critical systems.
Comfort experimenting with AI tools in the development workflow.

Nice To Haves

Experience with C++17.
Experience with CMake and vcpkg, or equivalent C++ build and dependency systems.
Experience with SQLite or embedded database patterns for local state persistence.
Knowledge of NinjaOne’s technology stack, which includes Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, and Postgres.
Knowledge of large-scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design, and client-server architecture.
