Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in STEM + 7 years of Software Engineering and System Architecture experience, or Master's degree in STEM + 4 years of product engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and scaling backend platforms in a production environment.
- 5+ years of professional programming experience using Python and/or Go.
- Experience deploying and managing services on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
Nice To Haves
- Direct experience integrating and building with Generative AI technologies and LLM frameworks.
- Deep understanding of modern AI tools, ML methodologies, and data pipelines.
- Proven track record of driving technology innovation by translating industry trends into scalable backend execution.
- Strong passion for designing highly reliable, maintainable, and distributed backend systems.
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and leading cross-functional platform initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and development of scalable Backend platform technologies for Cisco's next-generation AI products.
- Spearhead multi-functional engagements to architect, build, validate, and deploy AI/ML infrastructures and AI-powered networking and security solutions.
- Collaborate closely with AI/ML Product and Research teams to transform groundbreaking AI strategies into robust production systems.
- Partner with developers, UX designers, and non-technical stakeholders to build a unified, high-performance experience platform.
- Provide technical leadership and communicate complex engineering concepts effectively to both technologists and senior business executives.
