At PathAI, we are constantly evaluating our tech stack and our current tools consist of: Languages & Frameworks : Python, JavaScript, Django / DRF, FastAPI, Vue Platform : EKS (Kubernetes), S3, RDS / PostgreSQL, SQS, MSK (Kafka) Tooling : GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, Datadog The Opportunity We’re looking for a backend focused Senior Software Engineer to join our Integrations team. You will design, build, and maintain critical APIs and data pipelines that enable seamless clinical workflows and real-time data exchange across external systems and our core product. You will drive the architecture of our application platform, considering the team and our future product roadmap. You will collaborate with product, design, machine learning, and infrastructure teams. You will drive and uphold high engineering standards, bringing consistency to the codebases you encounter and ensuring software is adequately reviewed, tested, and integrated. You will foster a culture of continuous learning by mentoring teammates and sharing technical knowledge. You will champion code quality for both your individual contributions and the broader team's output. You will contribute to a SaaS platform used ensuring reliability, data integrity, and compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with clinical, QA, and regulatory teams to ensure software changes meet validation expectations and support inspection readiness.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or closely related technical field.
  • 5+ years of full life cycle development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on complex tasks, learn quickly and work in a proactive manner.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in designing and building Python-based (FastAPI or Django) applications.
  • Demonstrated foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a distributed team and to work autonomously on projects.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to attend client-facing meetings and explain technical concepts to non-experts.
  • Demonstrated cloud platform experience (AWS).

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or closely related technical field
  • Experience working in the healthtech industry, including working with HL7, HL7 FHIR, or DICOM
  • Experience with modern frontend JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or equivalent for building responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, e.g. GitLab CI
  • Demonstrated knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of some IaC framework
  • Experience deploying and monitoring VPNs
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects efficiently.
