About The Position

This is for a Senior Software Engineer (Back End) role. This is a Contract-to-Hire position. Responsibilities include designing high-performance and scalable e-commerce applications that meet the needs of millions of Walmart customers and its next-generation Supply Chain, particularly its Unified Inventory Management System, which will be largely built on an event-driven platform implemented via a micro-service architecture. The engineer will participate in a team of application engineers, architects, and product visionaries to develop, prototype, and build technology-driven products for current and future e-commerce needs. The primary focus is on delivering high-quality code for software designs that cater to product requirements in a fast-paced agile scrum sprint environment. The role involves working closely with senior engineers to quickly ramp up on design skills, analyzing business problems to design solutions, and implementing/testing complex code changes. Key tasks include implementing software according to design, generating test cases, automating integration tests, performing code reviews, and writing feature documentation. The engineer will follow guidance, learn quickly, and take ownership of tasks, ensuring design solutions are achievable and align with the target architecture. Proactive learning of key processes, relationships, and business requirements is expected. The role also involves performing build, deployment, and continuous integration processes, acting as a Level 3 production support engineer on a rotation basis, and troubleshooting business and production issues. The engineer will also help the team leverage and contribute to open-source technologies.

Requirements

Senior Software Engineer (Back End) experience
Experience in designing high performance and scalable e-commerce applications

Drive production deployments using platform’s automated CI and deployment tools.
Work as Level 3 production support engineer on a rotation-basis to help Level 2 production support team for any production issue where engineering help is required.
Provide support in troubleshooting / investigations pertaining to the Fulfillment management systems.
