Senior Software Engineer, Applied ML - Watch Software
About The Position
The team develops technologies that power innovative Apple Watch features such as DoubleTap, AssistiveTouch, Handwashing, and Raise to Speak. It collaborates with research and product teams across Apple to explore novel experiences and ship features. The role focuses on developing ML-driven product features involving sensing and human-computer interaction, spanning scalable modeling pipelines, rapid on-device prototyping, and full-scale productization. The team also works on features for Apple Watch, home products, and new hardware, prototypes experiences, develops and ships products, and publishes its work.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Expertise using Swift to develop on Apple platforms.
- Familiarity with Python and numerical processing libraries such as NumPy, Matplotlib, and pandas for time-series analysis.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently or in small teams.
Nice To Haves
- M.S. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Knowledge of machine-learning methods and statistical analysis.
- Experience building scalable modeling pipelines for data processing, training, and evaluation.
