Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at Roadie, you will be responsible for creating technology solutions in the crowdsourced delivery space. Your main focus will be on evolving the architecture and design of the backend frameworks to meet scalability and performance requirements. You will play a key role in the development, testing, and maintenance of Roadie's platform APIs and services, as well as collaborating with the engineering team to refactor existing systems and architect new features. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor developers, contribute to backend architectural design decisions, and establish software engineering best practices.

• Play an integral role in the development, design, testing, and maintenance of Roadie's platform APIs and services
• Work across the engineering team to refactor existing systems and architect new features and solutions at scale
• Partner with Engineering leadership to scope and define work across the team
• Apply experience and knowledge of industry best practices to support and continuously improve the performance, efficiency, and maintainability of existing applications
• Lead by example and mentor developers in all aspects of planning, development, and testing
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Data Science team members, providing a voice in backend architectural design decisions
• Contribute to establishing and improving software engineering best practices

• At least 6+ years of software architecture and development experience
• Deep technical experience in backend development
• Experience with Go, Python, and Ruby on Rails
• Proficiency in working with databases such as Postgres, Redis, Kafka, and Redshift
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Heroku and AWS
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of version control systems like git and GitHub
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools like CircleCI
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
