We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Business Systems Engineering (BSE) organization. We build the platform and applications that power the creation and production of Magic: The Gathering®, Dungeons & Dragons®, and Duel Masters®. Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a lead, staff, or senior+ capacity.
Proven track record building and operating production-grade enterprise software.
Deep understanding of application and distributed system design and architecture patterns.
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows and the judgment to critically evaluate AI-generated code against production quality standards.
Proficiency in C#/.NET, Java, Go or comparable languages, AWS, Docker/ECS/EKS), CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, event-driven systems, and relational database design.
A history of influencing engineers through pairing, feedback, and driving technical excellence among your team.
A strong sense of ownership and the communication skills to drive outcomes across technical and non-technical partners.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with React.js or other popular frontend frameworks.
Familiarity with event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS).
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or infrastructure-as-code practices.
Curiosity about or knowledge of Wizards brands.

Responsibilities

Design and develop services and applications on AWS that are core to our product creation platform.
Influence and champion engineering standards across the org, resulting in effective system design at both the application and service level.
Leverage and enhance our AI-assisted development tooling continuously improving the practices, review standards, and quality gates that keep AI-accelerated delivery reliable and maintainable.
Own technical decisions end-to-end: assess tradeoffs, align partners, drive execution, and follow through without waiting to be asked.
Translate business challenges into well-designed, scalable software solutions in partnership with product owners and cross-functional partners.
Influence and build up your teammates through technical direction, and code and design reviews, supporting their growth and career development.
