Senior Software Development Engineer - US Federal

About The Position

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native). This role will require a security clearance at the TS/SCI w/CI Poly level. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. An active TS/SCI w/CI Poly is preferred.Collaborate with Product Managers and QA Engineers on functional design and analysis of requirements Lead the design and development of products in a metadata-driven environment Build and maintain robust, efficient and maintainable code using an object-oriented framework and class modeling Troubleshoot customer reported issues Mentor and learn from other team members through pair programming, code reviews, hackathons, etc.

Requirements

• This role will require a security clearance at the TS/SCI w/CI Poly level. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. An active TS/SCI w/CI Poly is preferred.
• 8+ years experience with UML, Web application development or SaaS (Software as a Service) technologies
• 8+ years of experience with design and development using an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, etc.
• 8+ years of experience designing/developing business applications
• 8+ years of experience with design and analysis of software for performance
• Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience
• Must be a collaborative teammate with good verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience leading agile/scrum teams, providing technical guidance, and mentoring junior engineers to foster their professional growth and development
• Experience with JSON, REST, and GraphQL is a plus
• Strong knowledge and application of key design patterns in object-oriented development
• Experience in developing applications that prioritize usability and configurability
