The Integration Platform team's mission is to build a world-class integration platform that empowers Workday customers to connect seamlessly with our services. This team develops robust, scalable, and highly available systems that serve as the backbone for thousands of critical integrations. This role is for a Software Engineer on the Integration Platform team, designing and delivering scalable, secure, and developer-friendly solutions for logs, metrics, system health, and diagnostics. It's a hands-on engineering position emphasizing code quality, thoughtful design, and collaboration. The role serves as a key technical liaison between the Integration Platform and the Workday Government organization, influencing observability strategy and ensuring the platform meets Federal customer demands. This role supports U.S. Federal Government contracts requiring all personnel to be United States citizens.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of strong professional background in Java.
  • Extensive experience with multi-threading and concurrency.
  • Ability to design and develop enterprise solutions with a focus on high quality, scalability, and availability.
  • Minimalist approach to design, preferring to build small, reusable components.
  • Proven understanding and practical use of Design Patterns and Object Oriented Programming.
  • Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a United States citizen (naturalized or native) due to federal government security requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in software development using Java or Scala.
  • Experience with distributed systems (Kafka, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with networks.
  • Experience with Databases (MySQL).
  • Preferred DoD 8570/8140 compliant with at least IAT Level II certification, including a current Computing Environment (CE) credential and one approved specialty certification (e.g., CompTIA CySA+, GICSP, CASP+).
  • An active TS/SCI w/CI Poly is preferred.
  • May be required to be on site at client locations in the DC, MD, and VA (DMV) area.
