About The Position

The Senior Software Development Engineer will act as the Linux engineering subject matter expert on projects and business support requests of all sizes, from initiation through successful completion. You will be able to provide multiple solution approaches and will perform the engineering, to drive the development required to implement any selected option. The Senior Software Development Engineer will be aligned with Store Systems Management, problem resolution, and collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure project goals are met. In addition, the Senior Software Development Engineer will provide Store Systems Management with regular status updates, continuous process improvement, and completion of customer satisfaction initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years Linux Administration/Engineering/Configuration (Debian and RHEL based)
  • 5+ years experience with Bash/Python scripting
  • 3+ years experience in Docker (EE & CE), create containers, docker-compose (Kubernetes, docker swarm is a plus)
  • 3+ years experience with Linux Benchmarking, Performance Testing
  • 3+ years experience in SystemD and Linux services (NTP, DNS, Squid, NFS)
  • 3+ years experience with Linux middleware services Apache, MySQL
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing HA environments
  • Experience with other Hypervisor hardware/software (Nutanix, Vmware Esxi)
  • Experience in Hybrid Cloud Platforms; OpenShift, OpenStack
  • Experience with Linux Monitoring and Alerting, Linux Benchmarking, Performance Testing
