A Senior Software Developer is part of a team that creates software using a wide variety of tools and applications. Developers are expected to be proficient in core software development principles and methodologies. They must be able to break requirements down into appropriately sized objects, classes or methods that are consistent with the established enterprise architecture. Developers are also able to quickly troubleshoot and resolve application issues and make recommendations to improve performance and reliability. They are also able to review requirements and estimate accurate development hours and schedule costs. As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.
