About The Position

Multiplayer game development is notoriously difficult. Developers struggle to balance performance, flexibility, and ease of use, which has limited innovation in multiplayer games compared to the creativity seen in single-player games over the last decade. We are the team focused on solving this by designing Unity Multiplayer's core authoring workflows and integrating essential gaming services directly within the editor. Join us in making multiplayer game creation easier and more innovative. We are seeking a Senior Developer to significantly enhance the Multiplayer services experience within Unity. In this role, you will have the autonomy to spearhead initiatives focused on improving the onboarding journey, drastically decreasing iteration time, and ensuring top-tier performance at scale for millions of users. Help us define and unlock the next generation of multiplayer game development!

Requirements

Prior experience with the Unity Engine
Experience in either of C, C++, C#
Ability to conceptualize, communicate, and deliver engineering initiatives
Experience with high-performance programming, multithreading, and memory management
Experience with state of the art agentic development tools

Nice To Haves

Experience with foundational networking concepts.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
Familiarity with Go and developing backend infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design and implement features within the Unity Editor and related packages focusing on Multiplayer authoring and service integration.
Work closely with other multiplayer teams to align on features and workflow requirements
Write and maintain high-quality, production-ready code, including comprehensive tests.
Focus on implementing features that directly streamline and improve the development process for internal and external users.
