Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong foundational understanding of Python and its ecosystem.
  • Conceptual grasp of Event-driven architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and AWS.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Product and Design to manage scope and delivery.
  • Strong communication skills and deep motivation for the engineering management career path.
  • Bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery by translating product goals into clear technical plans and milestones.
  • Drive predictable delivery while balancing speed, quality, reliability, and technical debt.
  • Partner with technical leaders on architecture, system design, and technical trade-offs.
  • Act as the primary lead for production incidents, coordinating the team’s response and resolution.
  • Ensure strong engineering fundamentals including performance, reliability, observability, and security.
  • Lead post-mortem sessions to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and coach a team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and psychological safety.
  • Proactively resolve team dynamics issues using emotional intelligence to keep engineers motivated.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to shape roadmaps and scope outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders, surfacing risks early and providing transparent updates.
