About The Position

We are seeking a Software Architect to provide architectural ownership and functional leadership within Clinical Imaging Software. As part of the Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGT-D) team, you will establish and shape the integration of software solutions across multiple existing imaging platforms while enabling teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and innovative medical software products.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software architecture and software engineering for complex, software-intensive systems.
  • Experience working on medical devices with an emphasis on software is desired.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence senior technical professionals in a regulated environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to bridge business strategy and technical execution.
  • Must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the end-to-end software architecture for assigned products or platforms, balancing short-term delivery with long-term technical vision.
  • Define architectural principles, guardrails, and technology roadmaps, including non-functional requirements such as performance, security, safety, and scalability.
  • Review and challenge architectural proposals to ensure alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide functional leadership for a focused team of software engineers, test engineers, requirements engineers and other members of the software team through coaching, mentoring, and capability development.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, built-in quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to talent identification, development, and succession planning for technical roles.
  • Enable teams to deliver high-quality software through clear architectural guidance and alignment with Agile / SAFe practices.
  • Ensure compliance with medical device regulations (FDA, MDR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and strong design control practices.
  • Collaborate with existing software leadership and resources, product management, quality, regulatory, clinical, and service stakeholders to align technical solutions with customer and business needs.
