We're seeking a Senior Social Media Manager who brings both creativity and operational rigor to help us grow VASA's voice, community, and impact across the U.S. We're looking for a hands-on strategist & manager who can lead social media planning and execution through storytelling, data, and creative excellence. You'll bridge brand, content, and growth, owning our social voice while delivering tangible business outcomes--club growth, brand love, community engagement, and membership retentiveness. You'll report to the Director of Social Media, and work cross-functionally with creative, paid media, PR, operations, and regional clubs. You'll also mentor and manage social creators/assistants and spend meaningful time on the ground in clubs to create authentic content. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Requirements

  • Education: You have a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: You bring 6 - 9+ years of social media strategy and content creation experience in fast-moving, brand-driven environments--fitness, lifestyle, or community-based preferred. Previous experience in a social media role at an agency or with a major brand is highly preferred.
  • Management Experience: You bring at least 2 years of people management of experience, helping to grow and mentor a team of at least one. Understand different social careers paths to cater development opportunity.
  • Social-First Obsessed: The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about social media and has experience and in-depth knowledge in priority platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. You understand how to bring social-first content to life.
  • Proven TikTok Expertise: Demonstrated success in developing and executing TikTok strategies is essential. Candidates should be able to showcase measurable results and showcase approaches for engaging younger audiences on the platform.
  • Creative & Strategic: You think in platform-native formats while grounding your decisions in audience insights and performance data.
  • Audience-Obsessed: You're deeply attuned to the behaviors, humor, and preferences of the Gen Z and Millennial demographics and can translate those into smart, scalable content plans. Experience in effectively targeting and resonating with Gen Z is a must. This demographic is a top priority for growth strategy therefore this role needs someone who understands how to capture their attention authentically.

  • Wellness Culture--Savvy: You understand gym culture, follow fitness and wellness creators, and know what motivates people to join and stay. You maintain deep awareness of social media shifts, Gen Z humor and language, platform updates, and what's resonating across lifestyle and fitness brands.
  • Experienced with Ambassador/Influencer Programs: You've managed a brand ambassador, creator, influencer and/or affiliate program and know how to scale one with the right creators and tools.
  • Paid Media Collaboration: Understanding of the paid social media landscape, with proven experience partnering closely with paid media teams to develop content that aligns with campaign goals and drives performance.
  • Boosting Experience: Hands on experience with low-budget boosting across Meta & TikTok to drive incremental reach. Translate boosting performance into actionable paid media recommendations.
  • Balance Details with Strategy: Bring strong attention to detail and organizational rigor, while keeping sight of broader brand goals and long-term strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & execute our social media strategy to support larger business goals and communication priorities. Showcase the VASA brand through storytelling, driving brand relevance, engagement, and affinity.
  • Translate strategy into compelling creative briefs informed by performance data and trends. Own brainstorm collaboration with cross-functional teams to generate fresh, trend-forward content.
  • Define KPIs and success metrics; maintain dashboards and proactively develop and own test-and-learn opportunities. Deliver monthly reports with actionable insights to guide strategy and optimize content performance.
  • Help manage day-to-day functions of social media team inclusive of content creator & eventually community manager to develop best-in-class social creative. Build processes & workflows that enable to the team to work efficiently at scale.
  • Build and manage multi-platform content calendar (4+ channels, prioritizing TikTok & Instagram), tailoring content to platform strengths and algorithm priorities. Balance evergreen, real-time trend, influencer, campaign, and local content. Asana experience preferred.
  • Own content scheduling across social platforms using management tools and natively. Ensure timely publishing to maximize impact and avoid content gaps. Experience in Sprout or similar social media management platforms as a plus.
  • Develop engaging and on-brand copy across social channels, understanding the nuances of tone of voice across each platform.
  • Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and optimization of influencer and creator campaigns, ensuring every initiative aligns with brand strategy, values, member personas, and industry best practices.
  • Partner closely with internal teams and external paid media agency to develop content tailored to paid media personas. Leverage a strong understanding of key paid media KPIs to refine creative and strategy based on performance insights.
  • Hands on experience with low-budget boosting across Meta & TikTok to drive incremental reach. Translate boosting performance into actionable paid media recommendations in collaboration with paid media partners.
  • Drive pre-to-post content production--from ideation to execution--partnering with social media assistants, creators, and coordinating logistics like shot lists and gym access.
  • Help produce and film content, ensuring content ladders up to brand voice and showcases best-in-class content creation.
  • Regularly visit VASA clubs (home state and nationally) to help capture content, support in-club events, and ensure alignment between national strategy and local execution.
  • Monitor brand mentions and community conversations using listening tools to stay ahead of trends and competitor activity.
  • Build an emotional connection with Gen Z and Millennial audiences by delivering high-impact creativity that fuels conversation, shares, and follows.
  • Guide community management protocols, social listening, and crisis response to protect our brand while maintaining a playful, upbeat voice.
  • Collaborate with Brand on paid asset development, coordinate with PR, email, brand marketing, operations and internal stakeholders to drive consistency in communication and marketing touchpoints.
  • Partner with Finance to oversee creator-related budgets, invoicing, and timely payments to maintain strong partner relationships.
