About The Position

Diversified is a global leader in audiovisual and media technology, designing and building innovative spaces and experiences for clients across various industries. The ESS Installation Superintendent is a key field position responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects. This role involves interpreting drawing packages, coordinating with project management, and overseeing tasks such as rack and enclosure build-outs, panel terminations, device installation, testing, and troubleshooting. The Superintendent will handle complex system designs, mentor other technicians, and set an example in all job aspects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience, with admin capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Teams, Outlook, OneNote, BlueBeam/Adobe Reader, Project drawings, Programming Matrix, SRDs, UILs, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), Task Hazard Analysis (THAs), Risk Hazard Analysis (RHAs), RFIs, Redlines.
  • Ability to review and understand Matrix, Drawings, BOM List, SRD.
  • Ability to understand access control/CCTV systems.
  • Ability to install ACS, CCTV, intercom related systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix installation problems.
  • Ability to install devices and wire head end panels.
  • Ability to maintain the schedule and follow DIV28 specifications for quality control.
  • Experience with Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Honeywell, Software House, Bosch, DMP systems.
  • Knowledge in mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for electric locking hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Knowledge of accessing network interfaces for connection to devices such as access controllers, IP cameras, Intercoms, switches.
  • Experience and familiarity with PC admin level changes to connect to IP cameras and their aiming/adjustment.
  • Clean driving record and ability to operate a vehicle.
  • Clean criminal record and ability to hold a security clearance/registration for your local jurisdiction.
  • Active Passport, or the ability to obtain one and travel regularly.
  • Able to work indoors/outdoors, standing, sitting, and use ladders.
  • Able to lift 40lbs.
  • Regularly required to use keyboards, test equipment, and controls.
  • Need to use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth vision.

Responsibilities

  • Review the BOM at the beginning of every job and know the material required.
  • Communicate material requirements or discrepancies with the Project Manager and Design Engineering team.
  • Keep jobs within the scope of the given time frame.
  • Communicate with Regional Supervisor/Project Manager/Program Manager if a job cannot be completed on time.
  • Take ownership of job schedules and hold technicians/lead technicians accountable.
  • Maintain the job schedule and follow DIV28 specifications for quality control.
  • Maintain weekly communication with the Regional Supervisor, keeping written records of expected milestones, work accomplished, project issues, and problems that may arise.
  • Maintain Site Readiness Document and Site Inventory (updated monthly).
  • Manage Redlines/RFIs.
  • Communicate the need for assistance or guidance for any required work, including labor or technical issues.
  • Identify potential problems in drawings or matrices and communicate them to the Project Manager/Design Engineer.
  • Prioritize time effectively and manage multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Maintain constant communication with staff/sub-contractors on job sites.
  • Delegate work to technicians/lead technicians/sub-contractors, even when working remotely.
  • Maintain and record inventory online (using OneNote).
  • Communicate missing/defective equipment to the Regional Supervisor/Project Manager promptly.
  • Operate in a positive team environment to share knowledge and develop skills.
  • Perform tasks on client job sites with no supervision.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Delegate work, monitor others' work, and communicate with key stakeholders on behalf of the PM.
  • Make on-site decisions independently.
  • Maintain and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Ensure hazards are addressed and rectified in a timely manner.
