About The Position

ServiceTitan is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for its Site Reliability & Infrastructure Engineering team. The team owns the reliability and health of cloud-based applications and develops measurement and guidance systems that help engineering teams improve availability and efficiency as the company scales. The role focuses on operating and improving a Kubernetes-based compute platform, cloud infrastructure and networking, observability, production reliability, and AI-driven automation for SRE work. The engineer partners with product engineering teams on architecture and infrastructure decisions, helps define non-functional requirements, and promotes reliability and observability practices across engineering. The position includes participation in an on-call rotation and accountability for the reliability of large-scale, business-critical enterprise systems. The role calls for strong hands-on Kubernetes experience; practical SRE experience with SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets; cloud engineering and networking knowledge in AWS or Azure; and deep experience with a modern observability stack. Candidates should have hands-on experience building or operating AI agents that address infrastructure and reliability work, along with strong programming, CI/CD, distributed-systems, and production-troubleshooting skills. Relevant experience should total 8–10+ years. The company describes its culture as built on diversity, inclusion, and innovation. Benefits include flexible time off, learning and development opportunities, medical, dental, and vision coverage, FSA and HSA, a 401(k) match, telehealth options, parental support, fertility services, adoption reimbursement, pet insurance, legal advisory services, and financial planning tools. U.S. base salary ranges are $147,600–$221,400 for Zone 1 locations and $137,900–$206,900 for Zone 2 locations. The package also includes an annual bonus and equity.

Requirements

  • Strong, hands-on understanding of Kubernetes as a system.
  • Personal, hands-on experience using AI tools and agents to diagnose, automate, and resolve infrastructure and reliability work.
  • Experience building or operating agents that autonomously monitor infrastructure and take action, such as scaling, remediating, or escalating.
  • Practical experience defining and monitoring SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets on real systems.
  • Solid grounding in AWS or Azure and networking fundamentals, including subnetting and IP addressing.
  • Deep experience with at least one modern observability stack, such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Elasticsearch, and ability to transfer that knowledge across tools.
  • Strong understanding of a CI/CD system; GitHub Actions is preferred, with TeamCity, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI also acceptable.
  • Strong programming skills and ability to build web applications; .NET and ASP.NET are ideal, with Python (Flask or FastAPI) or Java (Spring) also accepted.
  • Experience with distributed systems and common failure modes, including retries, timeouts, and cascading failures.
  • Strong production troubleshooting skills and comfort diagnosing issues under pressure.
  • 8–10+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
  • Comfort making decisions with limited information and balancing immediate needs against larger-scale solutions.
  • Enjoyment of developing an operability culture in a rapidly growing and changing environment, and willingness to own a wide range of problem areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to discuss agent implementation and operation in concrete terms, including the MCP protocol, agent harnesses, and different agent-design strategies.
  • Understanding of agent context management, including progressive-disclosure strategies for surfacing relevant information without overloading context.
  • Ability to explain how to secure agent actions through scoped authorization, guardrails, and available AI infrastructure controls.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an on-call rotation and use runbooks and playbooks to diagnose and resolve production issues.
  • Design, build, and maintain observability dashboards and alerting based on SLIs and SLOs.
  • Operate and improve the Kubernetes-based compute platform.
  • Work across cloud networking and infrastructure in Azure or AWS to support reliable, scalable systems.
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and complete follow-up remediation.
  • Build and operate AI agents and automation that directly handle manual, repetitive SRE work.
  • Partner with product engineering teams to review architecture and infrastructure decisions before release.
  • Write and maintain runbooks and documentation to share on-call knowledge across the team.
  • Help define scalability, availability, and performance requirements for new systems.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to promote reliability and observability best practices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and help teams ship changes safely and quickly.

Benefits

  • Flexible time off.
  • Learning and development opportunities, including onboarding, leadership training, programs, and events.
  • Recognition programs, including Bonusly and peer-nominated awards.
  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% employer-paid options and 90% dependent coverage.
  • FSA and HSA.
  • 401(k) match.
  • Telehealth options, including One Medical memberships.
  • Parental leave and support.
  • Up to $20,000 in fertility services, including IUI and IVF.
  • Surrogacy and adoption reimbursement.
  • Maternity support through Maven Maternity.
  • Breast milk shipping through Maven Milk.
  • Pet insurance.
  • Legal advisory services.
  • Financial planning tools.
  • Annual bonus.
  • Equity.
