Senior Site Civil Engineer

About The Position

AKRF is seeking a Senior Site Civil Engineer for its New York City office. The role supports the design and management of land development projects for municipal and private-sector clients in New York City and the metropolitan area. The engineer will contribute to project design, management, and construction administration, while providing direction, delegation, and training to junior staff. The position involves coordinating with clients and other design consultants and working independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering.
5–10 years of experience.
New York State PE licensure is recommended. Applicants licensed in other states must obtain New York State licensure within 6–12 months of hire.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Superior attention to detail and organizational ability.
Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is essential.

Nice To Haves

Experience with the New York City permitting process and/or the Westchester County approvals process.

Responsibilities

Lead or support preparation of site/civil engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for projects in New York City and the metropolitan area.
Lead or support project management, including managing discrete tasks, project schedules, and budgets.
Lead or support construction administration, including periodic site visits to active construction sites.
Provide direction, delegation, and training to junior staff.
Communicate and coordinate day to day with clients and other design consultants.
