About The Position

Performs warehouse work related to the receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of products, parts, and materials. Loads, unloads, moves, or stores items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions. Operation of hand truck, powered forklift, stretch wrapper, bander, or other heavy equipment. This person is also cross trained in other various functions. This position will be located in the warehouse.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • Two to four years shipping and receiving or warehouse experience.
  • Two to four years forklift and powered pallet jack experience.
  • Must have ability to work from verbal/written instructions and effectively execute from those instructions.
  • Individual must be able to adapt to change and be flexible to meet reasonable objectives.
  • Position requires lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, standing, sitting, and hand/finger dexterity.
  • Ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of facility staff.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, the ability to read and understand procedures and documents, the ability to record and verify data.
  • Quality. Must have a high attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Must be able to execute a high level of quality consistently.
  • Frequently suggest continuous improvement ideas for process improvements.
  • Self-motivated. Must be able to seek out identify additional tasks that need to be completed
  • Teamwork. Must be able to adapt well to different personalities and have an effective working relationship with different teams.
  • Must be able to effectively sort and organize e-mail and respond to any requests promptly and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Print pick tickets, pull, scan, and package stock to prepare outbound domestic and international shipments.
  • Freight rate according to shipping method, i.e. Parcel, LTL carrier, etc.
  • Contact carrier representative to arrange logistics for incoming/outgoing freight.
  • Prepare a bill of lading as appropriate for shipment type.
  • Assist with cycle counts and other inventory control activities.
  • Assist with inventory management of shipping supplies, factory supplies or other supplies needed.
  • Perform PO receipts.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Communicate effectively all issues and priorities to team members and supervisor verbally and/or via e-mail.
  • Operate tow motor, electric pallet jack, hand bander, wrapper, manual pallet jack, and other equipment in a safe manner.
  • Comply with all safety, security, and shop practice requirements.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and warehouse organization including 5S standards.
  • Maintain a high level of transfer integrity for all system transactions.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including sterile and non-sterile products.
  • Cross-train to back up other warehouse duties as needed.
  • Train new team members to work instruction standards.
  • Participate in a plant improvement team such as the Safety Committee, JSA Team, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
