About The Position

Squire Patton Boggs is one of the world's strongest integrated legal practices. With over 1,500 lawyers spanning more than 40 offices across four continents, the firm is renowned for its local connections and global influence, delivering comprehensive legal services across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. We are looking for a Senior SharePoint Developer to join our team. The Senior SharePoint Developer designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result. Additionally, the Senior SharePoint Developer is responsible for configuring, customizing, and extending SharePoint on-prem and Online to meet business requirements, including modern sites, lists, libraries, and integrations with Microsoft 365 services. This role works closely with business analysts to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Power Platform, and related technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant experience or professional qualifications
  • Proficiency in software tools which automate or assist part of the development process. Examples: Visual Studio, VS Code, SQL Server Management Tools, Power Automate, Github.
  • Proficiency in the set of codes and syntax (supported by software tools) which enable the unambiguous translation of specified functionality into "source code" for the creation of computer programs. Examples: Python, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML & CSS, SQL.
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, Graph API, and JSON for integrating SharePoint with other services.
  • Has a solid understanding of Microsoft 365 services and integration patterns (Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online).
  • Experienced with Power Automate and Power Apps for building workflows, forms, and lightweight apps.
  • Familiarity with the testing techniques used to plan and execute software tests of all application components (functional and non-functional) to verify that the software satisfies specified requirements and to detect errors. Examples: unit testing, system testing, UAT facilitation, etc.
  • Familiarity with performing a proof of concept or prototyping exercise to demonstrate or evaluate the feasibility and potential benefits of applying a particular technology, product or toolset to meet a business need.

Responsibilities

  • Design, Develop, and maintain SharePoint online site, hub sites, and solutions to support collaboration and content management.
  • Configure and customize SharePoint components such as lists, libraries, content types, site columns, pages, views, and navigation.
  • Build client-side solutions using SPFx, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and REST APIs to extend SharePoint Online functionality.
  • Develop workflows, forms, and business applications using Power Automate, Power Apps, and other Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Integrate SharePoint Online with Microsoft 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook) and line-of-business systems where appropriate.
  • Implement and support information architecture, permissions, and governance standards for SharePoint Online environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint-related issues, performance problems, and integration defects, including root-cause analysis.
  • Perform site and solution maintenance, updates, and improvements, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to deliver user-centric solutions that follow best practices and organizational policies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, and support materials for developed solutions.
  • Provide end-user training, guidance, and occasional workshops to improve adoption and effective use of SharePoint solutions.
  • Taking part in reviews of own work.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of SharePoint, for example, reading relevant literature, attending conferences and seminars, meeting and maintaining contact with others involved in those areas and through taking an active part in appropriate professional and trade bodies.
