About The Position

We are seeking a Senior SEO Specialist to own our content and link building strategy in-house. This is a high-investment role for an experienced SEO professional who is tired of bureaucratic processes and wants to directly impact business growth. You will work directly with the founder and CMO, driving organic traffic, improving local rankings, and building a content engine from scratch. This role requires a proactive individual who can operate independently, make decisions, and communicate effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEO best practices, content strategy, link building, and local SEO, with a proven track record of delivering measurable results. This is a full-time, 100% remote position requiring dedication during Pacific Time business hours.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on SEO experience for B2C businesses (home services experience is a plus; B2B SaaS or enterprise SEO backgrounds are not of interest).
  • Hands-on experience across the SEO reporting stack, including daily use of tools like GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, BrightLocal, or equivalents.
  • Proven link building experience with real campaigns, outreach, and demonstrable results.
  • Experience in content production at volume, personally researching, briefing, and editing 4+ pieces of publish-ready content per week (AI-assisted is expected, but unreviewed AI output is not acceptable).
  • Strong understanding of Local SEO fundamentals: Google Business Profile, citation management, NAP consistency, location page strategy, and Local Pack ranking factors.
  • Strong written English skills for content creation and editing.
  • Experience working Pacific Time Zone hours from your current location.
  • Reliable internet, a quiet workspace, and the ability to be on camera for team meetings.
  • Ability to take ownership, operate with high integrity, and communicate proactively.

Nice To Haves

  • Home services experience.

Responsibilities

  • Content production at scale: Researching, writing, and optimizing 4 to 6 publish-ready pieces per week (scaling to 6 to 8), including blog posts, service pages, location pages, and campaign landing pages, utilizing AI-assisted drafting with thorough review.
  • Link building: Full ownership of strategy, outreach, guest posting, digital PR, broken link building, HARO, manufacturer dealer pages, local sponsorships, and competitor link gap analysis.
  • Content and on-page SEO strategy: Keyword research, topical authority building, content refreshes, content gap identification, competitor positioning, and setting the editorial calendar.
  • Internal linking strategy: Owning what links to what, anchor text, topical clusters, and content interconnection.
  • Schema strategy: Deciding on schema types, fields, and content, with the web developer handling implementation.
  • Local SEO: Location page strategy, citation management, NAP consistency, Local Pack ranking factors, competitive positioning, and eventual ownership of Google Business Profile strategy and oversight.
  • Strategic and content SEO audits: Performing link profile, content gap, competitor positioning, on-page performance, and topical authority audits.
  • Search Console analysis and reporting: Strategic interpretation of GSC data to identify trends, diagnostics, content gaps, and page-level performance.
  • Performance reporting: Providing a clear weekly pulse and a substantive monthly read on the SEO program, including organic traffic, search visibility, local pack performance, domain authority, backlink growth, content output, link building results, and competitor movement.
  • Daily async updates in Slack regarding shipped items, outreach status, ranking movements, blockers, and plans for the week.
  • Weekly working sessions with the CMO for strategic alignment and content priorities.
  • Weekly working sessions with the Senior Web Developer for coordination on technical aspects like schema, internal linking, page builds, and error resolution.
  • Direct communication with the founder as needed.

Benefits

  • Full-time, 100% remote position.
  • No monitoring software or micromanagement; trust-based work environment.
  • Opportunity to work directly with the founder and CMO.
  • Direct impact on business growth and ability to see tangible results from your work.
  • Competitive compensation ($2,000 to $3,500 USD per month, depending on experience).
  • Independent contractor role paid through a global payroll partner.
