About The Position

Elder is seeking a Senior SEO Executive to join their team and support the SEO Manager in enhancing the company's organic search performance. This role involves optimizing for Google search and emerging discovery platforms, including AI-powered search experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SEO fundamentals and be eager to apply them in a rapidly growing, purpose-driven organization. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate across various teams, including Social Media, CRO, Product, and Engineering, to maximize organic performance and drive business goals.

Requirements

  • A solid understanding of SEO best practices, including content creation and technical SEO optimizations.
  • Proven experience writing and editing high-quality content in English for SEO purposes, with the ability to create content that aligns with user intent, brand tone, and business goals.
  • Comfortable working independently with SEO and Analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush or similar, GA4, and Screaming Frog.
  • Experience analyzing performance data and turning insights into clear, prioritized recommendations.
  • Confidence running competitor analysis and identifying content or keyword gaps.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Curious and eager to learn, especially through hands-on experimentation.
  • Comfortable working closely with an SEO Manager in a small team and taking ownership of defined areas of work.
  • Clear communicator, able to explain SEO insights to non-SEO stakeholders.
  • Keep up to date with SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and industry changes.
  • Strong interest in how AI, social search, and changing user behavior are reshaping organic discovery.
  • Enjoy testing ideas, learning from results, and iterating based on what works.
  • An indefinite right to work in the UK is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in marketplaces, healthcare, or care-related sectors.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Sanity, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day SEO activity, including on-page optimization (meta titles and descriptions, heading structures, internal linking, and image optimization).
  • Update and improve existing content to increase visibility, rankings, and engagement.
  • Carry out keyword research for new and existing pages, informed by user intent and search behavior.
  • Write, edit, and optimize high-quality SEO content in English, including landing pages and blog articles, based on keyword research, content gaps, and user needs.
  • Support content optimization to improve how it is surfaced in modern search experiences (e.g., AI Overviews, AI Mode, large language models).
  • Learn how emerging discovery platforms impact SEO and apply relevant best practices.
  • Monitor changes in user behavior and support the identification of new SEO opportunities.
  • Support the implementation of technical SEO improvements, such as identifying duplicate content, redirect issues, or broken internal links using tools like Google Search Console and Screaming Frog.
  • Work with the SEO Manager and engineers to help prioritize and validate fixes.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to inform content topics and optimize discoverability on social media.
  • Work with the CRO Lead to support improvements to conversion rates on key landing pages, using SEO insights to inform testing and optimization.
  • Collaborate with Product & Engineering on site improvements and new features, supporting the implementation of SEO best practices.
