About The Position

RTX has an opening for a Senior Semiconductor Facilities Engineer (Manager, Facilities) position. Responsible for overseeing the design, operation, maintenance, and optimization of a 24x7 semiconductor manufacturing facility and associated systems. This role requires extensive knowledge of facilities engineering principles, semiconductor manufacturing processes, and leading cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years’ experience in semiconductor cleanroom design, HVAC systems, process utilities, and environmental controls.
  • Proven experience with project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other facility design and modeling software.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO, SEMI, and OSHA requirements.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or certifications in facilities management (e.g., CFM, PMP).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, design, and maintenance of semiconductor facility systems, including HVAC, cleanrooms, deionized water treatment, hazardous gas distribution, compressed air, process cooling water, industrial waste treatment, exhaust abatement, electrical systems, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Maintain cleanroom environments (ISO 14644) regarding temperature, humidity, and contamination control.
  • Oversee and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of tool installation projects, ensuring alignment with semiconductor manufacturing requirements, facility layouts, operational timelines, and compliance with fire protection systems (NFPA) and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety standards; fire codes (NFPA); local and industry regulations; and company policies.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of facility systems.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues related to semiconductor facility systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers, to optimize facility operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and project leadership to trades team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Conduct capacity planning and resource allocation to support current and future production requirements.
  • Identify and implement energy-efficient and sustainable solutions to minimize environmental impact and operational costs.
  • Generate detailed project plans, budgets, and reports for senior management review.
  • Stay current with advancements in semiconductor manufacturing technologies and facility engineering best practices.
