About The Position

Mycronic is seeking an experienced Senior Semiconductor Equipment Engineer to join its Global Technologies division, working within Surfx Technologies, its Applied Plasma business line. Surfx Technologies develops atmospheric argon plasma equipment for high-volume manufacturing of integrated circuits, semiconductor packages, printed circuit boards, and other microelectronic devices. Its automated plasma machines support surface cleaning, activation, and metal oxide removal. The engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and continuously improving automated plasma equipment for the semiconductor industry. The role leads mechanical engineering from concept and system design through prototyping, testing, validation, and product launch, applying mechatronics expertise to create high-precision, reliable equipment. The engineer collaborates with electrical, controls, software, and process engineering teams to integrate complex systems and meet performance, quality, and reliability requirements. In partnership with sales, service, and management, the engineer also supports troubleshooting and customer needs and identifies opportunities to improve equipment functionality, manufacturability, and performance. The position includes travel to customer sites domestically and internationally as needed. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD degree in mechatronics, such as mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • More than 10 years of mechanical tool design experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, GD&T, and Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of equipment cleanliness and safety standards, including ISO, CE, UL, SEMI, and NFPA.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and work both independently and effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites as needed.
  • Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; the position does not offer visa sponsorship.
  • Prior experience providing technical guidance and project management mentorship to team members, fostering knowledge sharing, effective planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
