As a Senior Securities Analyst Associate within PNC's Asset Management Group (AMG) Investment Office organization, you will be based in Philadelphia, PA. This position is with the Custom and Direct Indexing (CDI/THOR) team, a proprietary investment team that sits within the Asset Management Group (AMG) Investment Office. The team employs a systematic investment approach to build portfolios of index constituents, leveraging quantitative optimization methods to balance active risk with client objectives. The team manages approximately $9Billion in AUM. The role provides fixed income research coverage on assigned industry/sectors, analyzes financial statements, industry data and market dynamics to build a solid credit profile and valuation framework for individual issuers in the fixed income market. It supports issuer and security recommendations with detailed financial statement models, data analysis, and valuation models, and generates portfolio recommendations based on well-reasoned financial, technical and valuation metrics.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with SMA trading, portfolio implementation, and ongoing portfolio maintenance in an investment management environment.
  • Familiarity with equity direct indexing solutions, including customization, rebalancing, and tracking error management.
  • Strong ability to work with and interpret large datasets; experience sourcing, cleaning, and validating data for analytical use.
  • Programming or quantitative skill set (e.g., Python, SQL, or similar), with the ability to build or enhance models, analytics, and automation tools.
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets, equity investing, and portfolio construction, with a proactive and self-motivated approach to problem solving.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience using Fact Set and/or Bloomberg.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, regression, and financial time series.
  • Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • University / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily implementation and trading activity for client portfolios, ensuring timely execution, adherence to investment guidelines, and alignment with portfolio objectives.
  • Own portfolio-level risk oversight, including monitoring exposures, tracking error, factor risks, and key trigger events that may require portfolio action or escalation.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to manage, measure, and monitor portfolio performance, implementation efficiency, and deviations from benchmarks and models.
  • Develop and maintain performance analytics, including attribution, relative value analysis, and diagnostics to explain portfolio outcomes and inform investment decisions.
  • Analyze portfolio construction decisions, rebalancing impacts, and tax-aware implementation outcomes (as applicable), particularly within SMA and direct indexing frameworks.
  • Partner with front-office teams to support client reporting, global portfolio reviews, and business development initiatives, including ad hoc analysis and presentation support.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technology, operations, and investment teams to improve tools, workflows, and data quality related to portfolio analytics and implementation.
  • Provides fixed income research coverage on assigned industry/sectors.
  • Analyzes financial statements, industry data and market dynamics to build a solid credit profile and valuation framework for individual issuers in the fixed income market.
  • Supports issuer and security recommendations with detailed financial statement models, data analysis, and valuation models.
