About The Position

The Securities & Derivatives Associate Analyst is a developing professional role. This role identifies policy and applies specialty knowledge in monitoring and assessing processes and data. It integrates established disciplinary knowledge within its own specialty area with a basic understanding of related industry practices. The incumbent should have a good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area and will develop working knowledge of industry practices and standards. The role requires the ability to exchange information in a concise and logical way, while being sensitive to audience diversity. This position has a limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided, with the impact restricted to the incumbent's own team.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience working in Treasury Operations or Middle Office.
  • Good understanding of Treasury products, accounting and regulatory policies.
  • Ability to work in a structured, high volume, time sensitive, high risk and demanding environment.
  • Good analytical skills and positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of Macros.
  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate level of understanding of products and processes, and of how duties relate and integrate with others in the team and closely related teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of bank related systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders, and to exchange potentially complex sensitive information, while being sensitive to audience diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for securities transaction processing execution, typically related to Securities Clearance Settlement and Derivative Operations.
  • Provide analytic support to traders and support review of derivative products.
  • Support an expansive and/or diverse array of products and services.
  • Follow established procedures to identify problems related to securities and derivatives settlement that require investigation or research.
  • Assist in resolving problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
  • Deliver reports to satisfy management requirements, support control activities, and the launch of products and services.
  • Provide assistance in the implementation of process improvements.
  • Minimize risk to the bank through increased knowledge of procedural requirements - understand and monitor errors to adhere to audit and control policies (including reconciliation, payment and other processing systems).
  • Timely management and escalation of all requests, inquiries, issues, and errors (mostly, but not limited to, post settlement).
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
