About The Position

Wells Fargo’s Supply Chain Finance Group (“SCF”) supports companies with a broad range of supply chain solutions, including trade and receivables products, which provide a holistic approach to an enterprise’s working capital risk mitigation and financing needs. SCF is seeking a dynamic and analytical Senior Secured Lending Underwriter to support the underwriting, approval, and execution of secured lending transactions. The role will support a variety of secured lending financings, including Key Accounts Purchase Programs (KAP), Supplier Finance Programs (SF), factoring and asset-based lending facilities, and Accounts Receivable Securitization Facilities (ARS).

Requirements

  • 4+ years of secured lending underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with asset-based lending, receivables finance, factoring, securitization, supply chain finance, or related commercial lending products.
  • Strong analytical and financial statement analysis skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear and effective written credit analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and policy compliance.
  • Working knowledge of secured lending concepts, collateral analysis, legal documentation, and credit risk management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the underwriting and closing of secured lending transactions.
  • Perform financial, collateral, industry, and transaction analysis to evaluate credit risk and identify key risk factors.
  • Prepare concise and well-supported credit approval materials for review by credit approvers and senior stakeholders.
  • Support the credit underwriting of corporate financial counterparties.
  • Analyze transaction structures, collateral performance, repayment sources, and other factors influencing credit quality.
  • Partner closely with Originations and the underwriting team to seamlessly transition executed mandates into the formal underwriting and credit approval process.
  • Assist in the identification and assessment of credit, operational, legal, documentation, and structural risks.
  • Exercise independent judgment while performing moderately complex underwriting assignments and escalating more complex issues as appropriate.
  • Support due diligence activities, including collateral examinations, appraisals, business diligence, contract reviews, and other transaction-specific requirements.
  • Assist with risk ratings, policy compliance reviews, approval conditions, and ongoing monitoring requirements.
  • Work with legal counsel, originators, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to support transaction execution and closing activities.
  • For applicable transactions, assist in the preparation and review of ARS-related analyses and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with underwriting teammates and business partners to resolve issues and achieve transaction objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve underwriting processes, templates, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Continue developing expertise in secured lending underwriting, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
