About The Position

Dr. Grither’s research focuses on tumor-microenvironment interactions and metastasis with a focus in ovarian cancer models. Our research works to better understand the unique cell-cell interactions and signaling pathways present in the ovarian tumor-microenvironment in an effort to tackle the fundamental challenges in tumor biology including dysregulated signaling, metastasis, treatment resistance, and recurrence. Successful candidate will also participate in translational efforts in this area. We are seeking a highly motivated and rigorous Senior Scientist to join our team. Applicants with a strong background in molecular and cell biology or signaling transduction are encouraged to apply. Collaborates on designing, conducting and reporting of research projects.

Requirements

  • Phd Or Terminal Degree Or Combination Of Education And Experience May Substitute For Minimum Education.
  • Postdoctoral (3 Years)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the following: RNA extraction and handling, cDNA preparation, PCR.
  • Molecular cloning and standard molecular biology techniques.
  • Mammalian cell culture, particularly work with primary human cells in addition to established cell lines.
  • Mouse models, including tissue harvesting and in vivo experimental work.
  • CRISPR and shRNAi based genetic perturbation approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates on designing, conducting and reporting of research projects.
  • Assists with grant preparation and reporting.
  • May submit grant proposals in rare circumstances with the approval of the PI, Department Head and Dean.
  • Prepares and submits papers on research.
  • Develops hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing it.
  • Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
  • Manages research project with other institutions and investigators.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
