Senior Scientist, Research & Development
About The Position
The Senior Scientist conducts research to discover and develop scientific capabilities that enhance and diversify Kenvue’s Oral Care, digestive health, and allergy R&D. The role identifies internal and external opportunities to advance scientific thought leadership and leads the development of molecular biology and immunology preclinical methods for evaluating technologies and products in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The scientist stays current with scientific advances and technologies to inform research strategies. They design and develop studies that advance capabilities related to oral and systemic immune responses in areas such as oral care, digestive health, and allergies. Research is intended to predict clinical outcomes, provide mechanistic insights, or support scientifically robust claims. Intellectual property may be patented when feasible. The role regularly communicates results to internal partners and leaders and externally through appropriate scientific conferences and professional engagements. Publication of discoveries is encouraged.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Master’s degree with 4 years of applied research experience, or a PhD with 0–2 years of applied research experience.
- Degree in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related major.
- Experience with cell culture, tissue culture, 2D and 3D preclinical cell models, and data analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of immune response and inflammatory biomarkers related to oral health, digestive health, allergies, or related areas.
- Experience with Biosafety Level 2 laboratory operations.
- Ability to translate complex scientific topics into meaningful insights and actionable strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong presentation skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with bioinformatics programming software such as R and Minitab.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in computer software packages and literature searches.
- Understanding of clinical and in situ study design.
- Experience with imaging tools.
- Experience with the peer-reviewed publication and intellectual property submission processes, with a proven track record of conducting and publishing impactful research in peer-reviewed journals.
