About The Position

Join Siemens Healthineers’ Linear Accelerator Systems group as a Senior Research Scientist focused on the radiation-producing subsystem of radiation therapy machines. The position addresses thermomechanical challenges arising from concentrated electron beams and high-power microwaves interacting with hardware materials. The successful candidate will contribute thermomechanical design and materials science expertise for beam-generation components, along with general mechanical engineering and subsystem design work. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary group of microwave, electrical, and mechanical engineers. The role calls for independent problem-solving, project leadership, hands-on experimental work, and effective collaboration across teams and with suppliers. The position is on-site in the Palo Alto office, with travel to the Mountain View facility. Siemens Healthineers describes itself as a global medical technology company with more than 72,000 employees in more than 70 countries. The base pay range is $160,500–$220,682; starting pay may vary based on geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. Benefits, subject to eligibility, include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, life and disability insurance, paid parking or public transportation, paid time off, and paid sick and safe time.
