About The Position

Entegris is seeking a Senior Scientist, Organic Chemist to join its Research and Development team at its Aurora site. The role focuses on developing leading-edge technologies for semiconductor applications in collaboration with scientists and engineers across disciplines. The Senior Scientist will design, synthesize, isolate, characterize, and purify small organic molecules, including silanes, to meet defined performance targets. The role includes interpreting characterization data and applying structure–property relationships to improve material performance. The scientist will plan, execute, and document a research program; help scale promising chemistries from laboratory work to pilot and production; collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams; present technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences; and contribute to laboratory safety practices. Entegris describes its culture as collaborative and values-driven, with employees encouraged to contribute ideas. The company offers a total rewards package that includes compensation of $85,500–$120,000 per year, annual bonus eligibility, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer match, health, dental and vision insurance, and education assistance. Immigration-related sponsorship is not provided for this role.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, with a focus in organic or silane chemistry.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, synthesizing, isolating, and purifying small organic molecules.
  • Hands-on expertise characterizing self-prepared materials, selecting appropriate techniques, interpreting data, and explaining implications for material performance.
  • Experience adjusting chemical and physical properties using structure–property relationships.
  • Research contributions demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, patents or patent applications, conference presentations, internal technical reports, or products advanced to commercialization.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and document defined research activities on schedule.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to laboratory safety and participation in safety initiatives.
