About The Position

The Precision Medicine Immunology department is seeking a highly motivated and talented Scientist with a background in immunology or immuno-oncology and experience in single-cell or spatial genomics, molecular biology, and cell biology to join the Translational Research team. This individual will provide leadership in clinical biomarker discovery by profiling clinical samples using single-cell and spatial omics approaches to better understand drug mechanism of action and pharmacodynamics, while driving data-informed patient selection strategies. The role will support drug development programs across inflammatory and autoimmune disease areas, including Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, and Fibrosis, from late-stage discovery through clinical trials. The successful candidate will join a growing translational research group and collaborate with cross-functional teams both internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 12 years of experience, Master’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, PhD and typically 4 years of experience.
  • Major or advanced degree in Immunology, cell & molecular biology, pharmacology, pathology, bioinformatics or other relevant biological sciences.
  • Proven track record of leading translational medicine initiatives in autoimmune diseases, bridging the gap between early discovery and clinical application.
  • Extensive experience designing and conducting single-cell and spatial omics studies to generate and validate critical biomarker hypotheses.
  • Broad technical expertise in molecular and cell biology assays, specifically specializing in scRNA-seq, CITE-seq, and multi-parameter flow cytometry.
  • Expertise in executing spatial omics experiments using CosMx, Xenium, and Visium platforms, integrated with deep expertise in molecular pathology techniques such as IHC and ISH
  • Proficient in the integrative analysis of multi-dimensional datasets using bioinformatics tools such as R and Python.
  • Skilled in using advanced image analysis platforms, such as Visiopharm and HALO, to derive quantitative biological insights from tissue-based assays.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architectures (AWS) and high-performance computing (HPC) environments for processing large-scale genomic data.
  • Experience applying machine learning frameworks and sophisticated data visualization tools to interpret complex biological patterns.
  • Strong project leadership and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources to meet aggressive timelines.
  • Experienced in managing CROs and external collaborators while working seamlessly with multi-functional internal teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent presentation and people management skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex scientific data to diverse stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • A robust track record of scientific writing, ensuring high-quality documentation and verbal reporting of technical findings.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead the design, execution, and analysis of complex genomic profiling experiments, including single-cell RNA-Seq, CITE-Seq, and spatial transcriptomics/proteomics.
  • Perform image analysis tasks for spatial transcriptomics and proteomics datasets, including de-array and alignment for multi-omics integration, cell segmentation and phenotyping.
  • Design, develop and implement computational pipelines for processing and analyzing spatial omics datasets, including spatial transcriptomics and proteomics.
  • Proactively identify technical artifacts, interpret quality control results, optimize assay performance, and ensure high quality and reproducible data delivery on timely deadlines.
  • Stay at the forefront of the single-cell and spatial genomics field by surveying, evaluating, testing and validating novel scientific methodologies.
  • Present work plans and acquired data clearly and precisely to cross-functional stakeholders through formal written reports and verbal updates.

Benefits

  • paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick)
  • medical/dental/vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • long-term incentive programs
