Requirements

  • A BS degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Licensure/certification as a Professional Geologist, Professional Engineer, CHMM or related, and/or ability to be registered/certified within 12 months
  • Significant, in-depth hands-on environmental experience is required, typically gained through 10–20 years of progressively responsible work aligned with the position’s duties
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations and programs serving industrial, energy, and commercial clients
  • Demonstrated knowledge of brownfield redevelopment, including assessment, risk management, regulatory engagement, grant writing/management and support of redevelopment goals
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience
  • A genuine interest in business development and growing client relationships
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, to understand their needs and develop practical, effective solutions
  • Lead and inspire multidisciplinary project teams, driving accountability, quality, and momentum
  • Own project performance—managing scope, budget, schedule, risk, and profitability
  • Build and strengthen long-term client relationships and strategic partnerships
  • Mentor staff and contribute to developing the next generation of technical and project leaders
  • Provide technical leadership on advanced environmental work, including: Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Provide technical leadership on advanced environmental work, including: Soil, soil vapor, and groundwater investigations
  • Provide technical leadership on advanced environmental work, including: Response action plans supporting remediation and redevelopment
  • Provide technical leadership on advanced environmental work, including: Brownfield redevelopment
  • Provide technical leadership on advanced environmental work, including: Knowledge and experience with local environmental investigation and clean up grants
  • Provide technical leadership on advanced environmental work, including: Oversight of remedial activities and compliance monitoring
  • Provide technical leadership on advanced environmental work, including: Scope development, cost estimating, and proposal preparation
  • Provide technical leadership on advanced environmental work, including: Data analysis and report writing
  • Travel locally and regionally as needed (up to ~20%)
