About The Position

At BeOne Institute, we extend BeOne’s execution strength with a dedicated innovation engine, bringing agility and scientific depth to transform uncertainty into actionable and high-impact therapeutic opportunities. We operate according to three core principles: Bold Exploration: we pursue novel and high-potential ideas through rapid, iterative innovation cycles. Strategic Alignment: we prioritize disease areas that align closely with BeOne’s R&D priorities and long-term vision. Pipeline Impact: we translate insights into tangible assets and advance emerging platforms into impactful programs. As a Scientist at BeOne Institute, you will play a key role in conceptualizing, enabling, and driving cutting-edge research at our San Carlos, CA site. In this role, you will develop and execute biochemical and cellular assays to enable discovery across novel targets, mechanisms, modalities, and chemical matter addressing unmet needs in oncology and immunology. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in assay development and screening, combined with the versatility and scientific curiosity to contribute across disciplines as research priorities evolve. You will be expected to bring creative solutions to current and emerging challenges, contribute to brainstorming and scientific strategy, and collaborate broadly to propel our research forward. This is a rare opportunity to pursue bold ideas and translate them into real medicines.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in biology, chemistry, engineering, or other related field with 3+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience in assay development, optimization, miniaturization, and execution.
  • Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and draw meaningful conclusions from experimental data.
  • Broad expertise in experimental biology, with the ability to contribute across cell biology, protein science, and/or related disciplines as scientific priorities evolve.
  • Ability to independently design experimental strategies, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and drive projects toward defined scientific objectives.
  • Experience with common lab automation platforms and equipment (eg: acoustic dispensers, liquid handlers, plate readers, and related instrumentation).
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and interdisciplinary research environment, and to integrate multi-disciplinary approaches to solve complex biological problems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Be able to work on-site in San Carlos, CA
