About The Position

Deep Genomics is a company focused on using artificial intelligence to transform drug discovery. They aim to identify novel drug targets, mechanisms, and therapeutics by decoding RNA biology. The company has a multidisciplinary team with expertise in machine learning, bioinformatics, data science, engineering, and drug development. This specific role is based in Cambridge, MA, and is centered on the analytical characterization and formulation of oligonucleotides to support research efforts. The individual will be responsible for verifying the identity and purity of oligonucleotides from external CROs and internal experiments, as well as formulating them for experimental use. Managing research samples is also a key part of this role.

Requirements

  • PhD in analytical, pharmaceutical sciences, or bio-organic chemistry with expertise in HPLC and mass spectrometry, plus 2 years of experience; OR MS in similar fields with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience in laboratory techniques specific to oligonucleotides.
  • Experience in designing and implementing new processes for oligonucleotide samples.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with oligonucleotide therapeutics, including formulation.
  • Understanding of in vitro assays and/or in vivo experiments related to ADAR, siRNA, and ASO-modality therapeutics.
  • Experience in bioanalysis and GxP methods and laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a plan for the installation of an LCMS system for analysis of oligonucleotides, in collaboration with the leader of Molecular Design Chemistry.
  • Maintain an LCMS system as a superuser for the characterization of oligonucleotides, focusing on identity, purity, and stability.
  • Develop analytical methods for the LCMS system to characterize research oligonucleotide samples, including their chemical and metabolic stability.
  • Maintain efficient workflows that integrate internal and external analytical work conducted at CROs.
  • Generate Certificate of Analysis reports based on the collected data.
  • Perform formulation processes to prepare research samples for in vitro and in vivo experimentation, including endotoxin analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a sample tracking system for compounds received at the Cambridge facility.
  • Potentially perform bioanalysis of PK samples in the future.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive compensation, including meaningful stock ownership.
  • Comprehensive benefits: health, vision, and dental coverage for employees and families.
  • Employee and family assistance program.
  • Flexible work environment: flexible hours, extended long weekends, holiday shutdown, unlimited personal days.
  • Maternity and parental leave top-up coverage.
  • New parent paid time off.
