About The Position

We are seeking a Senior SAS Viya Developer / SAS Platform Migration Lead to drive large-scale SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) to SAS Viya migration initiatives for enterprise clients in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain. This role requires strong expertise in SAS programming, SAS Viya architecture, CAS processing, and data platform modernization. The individual will lead migration strategy, technical execution, and stakeholder engagement while working in a global delivery model with onshore and offshore teams. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical SAS expertise with leadership capabilities, enabling them to drive migration programs, optimize legacy code, and implement modern analytics solutions on the SAS Viya platform.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in SAS programming and analytics platform development.
Hands-on expertise in SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Viya environments.
Experience leading SAS platform modernization or migration initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to work with global onshore/offshore delivery teams.
Experience working directly with enterprise clients and business stakeholders.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide technical teams.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in one of the following: Computer Science Statistics Data Science Engineering Mathematics Or related technical discipline

Responsibilities

SAS Platform Migration Leadership Lead and execute SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) to SAS Viya migration programs across enterprise analytics platforms.
Assess current SAS EG codebases, workflows, and data pipelines to determine migration complexity and dependencies.
Develop migration frameworks, playbooks, and automation strategies to streamline transition to SAS Viya.
Convert legacy SAS programs to Viya-compatible architecture and optimize for CAS (Cloud Analytic Services) processing.
Implement modern analytics workflows leveraging SAS Studio, Visual Analytics, and Viya services.
Migration Planning & Strategy Analyze the existing SAS EG environment, processes, and infrastructure.
Develop detailed migration roadmaps, timelines, and implementation strategies.
Identify migration risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Define migration governance, best practices, and standards.
Technical Implementation Convert SAS EG programs into Viya-compatible code and architecture.
Optimize SAS workloads for distributed CAS processing.
Integrate SAS Viya with data platforms, APIs, and enterprise systems.
Implement security controls, data governance, and access management within the Viya ecosystem.
Quality Assurance & Validation Develop and execute testing frameworks for migration validation.
Conduct parallel runs and result reconciliation between EG and Viya environments.
Validate data accuracy, performance improvements, and process integrity.
Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related technical issues.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement Work closely with client stakeholders, architects, and data teams to ensure business requirements are met.
Provide technical advisory on SAS modernization strategies.
Deliver migration status updates and executive reporting.
Team Leadership & Global Delivery Lead and mentor onshore and offshore SAS engineering teams.
Coordinate development tasks across dual-shore delivery models.
Conduct code reviews, technical governance, and best practice enforcement.
Enable knowledge sharing across teams.
Knowledge Transfer & Documentation Develop migration documentation, best practices, and operational guides.
Create training materials for teams transitioning to SAS Viya.
Conduct technical workshops and enablement sessions.
Monitoring & Optimization Monitor post-migration performance and system stability.
Identify opportunities to optimize SAS workloads and analytics pipelines.
Support ongoing platform maintenance and enhancements.
