About The Position

As a Senior SAP FICO Consultant, you will deliver SAP Finance and Controlling solutions that support Lonza’s global business operations. You will work with stakeholders across Finance, IT, and Operations to design, configure, enhance, and support SAP solutions, with a strong focus on Product Costing, Material Ledger, and Actual Costing. The preferred candidate will be based in Houston, TX, or Portsmouth, NH, and able to work from a Lonza office. The role follows a standard Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule; candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
At least 8 years of SAP FICO experience in implementation, enhancement, and support environments.
Hands-on experience with Product Costing, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Asset Accounting (AA).
Experience with SAP solution design, configuration, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
Working knowledge of SAP Project Systems (PS), including integration with FI, CO, procurement, logistics, and project settlement processes.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close processes, budgeting, and cost accounting principles.
Familiarity with IT project delivery methodologies and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within global cross-functional teams.
Passion for mentoring, coaching, and sharing knowledge with colleagues and business partners.

Experience supporting manufacturing or life sciences organizations is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the SAP FI/CO subject matter expert, with primary responsibility for Product Costing, Material Ledger, and Actual Costing processes.
Design, configure, implement, and enhance SAP FI and CO solutions aligned with business requirements and enterprise standards.
Work with business stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into scalable SAP solutions.
Support financial processes including month-end close, management reporting, revenue recognition, taxation, asset accounting, and capital expenditure tracking.
Use SAP Project Systems (PS) knowledge to support project accounting, settlement processes, and integrations with Finance and Operations.
Develop and maintain functional specifications, test scripts, and business process documentation.
Execute functional testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
Provide third-level support for complex incidents, troubleshoot issues, and resolve critical production problems in a timely manner.
Partner with technical teams to design and maintain integrations with third-party applications.
Support internal and external audits by providing technical expertise and system documentation.
Identify process improvements and drive continuous enhancements across SAP Finance and Controlling functions.
Lead requirements-gathering sessions and drive projects from concept through production deployment.
Mentor, coach, and share knowledge with colleagues and business partners.
