About The Position

As a Senior SAP FICO Consultant, you will deliver SAP Finance and Controlling solutions that support Lonza's global business operations. You will work with stakeholders across Finance, IT, and Operations to design, configure, enhance, and support SAP solutions, with a strong focus on Product Costing, Material Ledger, and Actual Costing. The preferred candidate will be based in Houston, Texas, or Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and able to work from a Lonza office. The position follows a standard Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule; candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred. Compensation will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and relevant knowledge.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of SAP FICO experience in implementation, enhancement, and support environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Product Costing, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Asset Accounting (AA).
• Strong experience in SAP solution design, configuration, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Working knowledge of SAP Project Systems (PS), including integration with FI, CO, procurement, logistics, and project settlement processes.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close processes, budgeting, and cost accounting principles.
• Ability to lead requirements-gathering sessions and drive projects from concept through production deployment.
• Familiarity with IT project delivery methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within global cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SAP FI/CO subject matter expert, primarily for Product Costing, Material Ledger, and Actual Costing processes.
• Design, configure, implement, and enhance SAP FI and CO solutions aligned with business requirements and enterprise standards.
• Analyze requirements with business stakeholders and translate them into scalable SAP solutions.
• Support month-end close, management reporting, revenue recognition, taxation, asset accounting, and capital expenditure tracking.
• Use SAP Project Systems knowledge to support project accounting, settlement processes, and integrations with Finance and Operations.
• Develop and maintain functional specifications, test scripts, and business process documentation.
• Execute functional testing and support user acceptance testing activities.
• Provide third-level support for complex incidents, troubleshoot issues, and resolve critical production problems.
• Partner with technical teams to design and maintain integrations with third-party applications.
• Support internal and external audits with technical expertise and system documentation.
• Identify process improvements and drive continuous enhancements across SAP Finance and Controlling functions.
• Mentor, coach, and share knowledge with colleagues and business partners.
