BS&ALansing, MI

About The Position

The Senior Salesforce Administrator is responsible for the configuration, administration, and optimization of BS&A’s Salesforce ecosystem, including Sales Cloud, Revenue Cloud (Salesforce CPQ & Salesforce Billing), Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Professional Services PSA, and Financial Cloud. This role centers on secure, reliable operations: user and permission management, org configuration, high-quality data, and robust automation via Salesforce Flows. The Senior Administrator partners closely with Finance, IT, Customer Success, and Business Operations to deliver new functionality, enable reporting, and execute releases in coordination with the Salesforce Developer and integration teams, ensuring system stability, scalability, and alignment with company objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of dedicated, hands-on Salesforce CPQ administration in a production environment.
  • Mastery of the full quote-to-cash lifecycle: opportunity → quote → contract → order → invoice → renewal/amendment, including co-terming, proration, and mid-term changes.
  • Proven ability to design and maintain complex pricing models: tiered pricing, block pricing, percent-of-total, contracted pricing, discount schedules, and multi-currency.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining advanced Quote Output Templates, including conditional sections, dynamic line items, and integration with Omni-Studio and/or Conga Composer.
  • Working knowledge of CPQ guardrails and known limits (e.g., large-quote performance tuning, calculation sequencing, package settings, and CPQ-Billing handoffs).
  • Comfortable troubleshooting CPQ calculation errors, price waterfall issues, and twin-field/legacy API behaviors without escalation.
  • A demonstrable history of contributing as a core team member to a major, multi-cloud Salesforce implementation — ideally one spanning the full quote-to-cash and project-delivery lifecycle, rather than a single point solution.
  • CPQ / Quoting: Hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ or Revenue Cloud — product and pricing configuration, quoting, amendments and renewals, and order generation across both subscription and one-time products.
  • PSA / Project Delivery: Experience with a professional services automation platform such as Certinia PSA — projects created from closed orders, milestones, time and project billing, and the handoff from delivery into billing and revenue.
  • ERP / Finance: Experience with a Salesforce-native billing and accounting layer such as Certinia ERP, Salesforce Billing, and RightRev — billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
  • Direct experience partnering with Finance, Controllership, Revenue Operations, Professional Services, and external implementation partners on quote-to-cash and order-to-cash transformations.
  • Working familiarity with the financial concerns that shape these programs: revenue recognition (ASC 606), billing schedule design, invoice presentation and consolidation, dunning, payment application, deferred revenue, GL coding, and audit/SOX controls.
  • Experience with data migration on a Salesforce implementation — accounts, products, active subscriptions, open contracts, in-flight projects, and billing schedules — including reconciliation back to source systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification — Required.
  • 8+ years as a Salesforce Administrator or Consultant supporting multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong expertise with Salesforce Flows, the security model (profiles, permission sets, sharing), and environment/release execution.
  • Hands-on experience with CPQ & Salesforce Billing and Experience Cloud.
  • Familiarity with adjacent integrations (e.g., HubSpot, Certinia, RightRev, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI); able to partner with developers on changes.
  • Solid data stewardship: processing, validations, deduplication, imports/exports, and reconciliations.
  • Salesforce Clouds (Sales, Service, Experience), CPQ & Billing fundamentals, data model, and security model.
  • Best practices for Flows, approvals, validation rules, duplicate prevention, and change management.
  • Reporting and dashboards; basic data warehousing concepts for analytics handoffs.
  • Integration touchpoints and field mapping across common enterprise systems.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Salesforce Revenue Cloud (CPQ and Billing) is required, including: Product Modeling, Price Book modeling and Price Rules, Quote Output Template construction, including Omni-Studio and/or Conga Composer integration, Order Orchestration, including Salesforce Advanced Order Management module, Salesforce Billing, including billing schedules, invoice construction, and presentation, Usage-Based Billing, including the usage object and how to meter usage.

  • Salesforce Platform Administrator II and/or Platform App Builder — Preferred.

  • Administer users, profiles, permission sets/PSGs, roles, sharing rules, and SSO policies; uphold least privilege standards.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance via validation rules, duplicate management, and audits.
  • Design, test, and deploy Salesforce Flows (record-triggered, scheduled, subflows, invocables) and approval processes to streamline operations.
  • Partner with the Developer to decide config vs. code and to harden error handling and logging.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards for Finance, Customer Success, and Operations; enable downstream analytics handoffs (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Triage feature requests and incidents; resolve issues across configuration, data, and integrations; communicate status and progress. Report on requests for trending analysis.
  • Create or partner on SOPs, admin runbooks, and user guides; deliver targeted training for new features.

  • Participate in UAT, cutovers, and post-release reviews; track adoption and feedback.
  • Evaluate Salesforce requirements and provide recommendation on whether requirements should be managed with Salesforce, and if so, the proper way to design and build the requirement taking advantage first of out of the box objects & features, second leveraging native workflow tools like Salesforce Flows, and third, if necessary, customizing with Apex.
