About The Position

The Senior Sales Manager HM/OEM is responsible for solicitation, selling, and contracting rooms for assigned markets in coordination with transient demand patterns and existing group business to maximize hotel room and related revenues. This role involves continuous outside and inside sales solicitation to grow new group business, efficient and accurate detailing of events from booking through the event date, and timely, accurate communication of details to operational departments to ensure guest needs are met. The position requires understanding and abiding by all safety protocols, embracing last-minute changes, and maintaining positive guest relations. It also involves performing other duties as assigned, including potential overnight travel for business-related activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to two years of experience in hotel and/or conference center sales
  • Proficient use of computer, software, and technology
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety protocols
  • Willingness to embrace last-minute changes in direction and unexpected changes in operational plans
  • Ability to maintain positive guest relations at all times

Responsibilities

  • Timely follow-up and thorough attention to detail in negotiating, detailing, and administering required documents for group rooms and related events.
  • Effective communication of group details to all hotel departments.
  • Meeting and greeting clients at the beginning of events to introduce them to the hotel's service point of contact.
  • Outside sales solicitation activities to grow group rooms and related revenue.
  • Achievement of monthly and quarterly booking goals.
  • Analysis and management of business opportunities to achieve the highest profit margins.
  • Creative selling of available hotel space to maximize revenue.
  • Obtaining rooming lists, catering selection, and set-up details from clients.
  • Finalizing banquet event orders and contacting customers for final counts.
  • Tracing files to ensure correct payment and proper procedures pre and post-function.
  • Negotiating and finalizing contracts within approved guidelines.
  • Communicating with appropriate departments regarding set-up changes and final counts.
  • Ensuring that guest rooms and meeting rooms are blocked.
  • Providing accurate forecasts to operational departments for proper staffing.
  • Establishing on-site customer contact as needed and introducing customers to service staff.
  • Following up with clients after each function to ensure satisfaction and solicit additional business.
  • Ensuring proper usage and entry of all required information into sales software, including significant client communication.
  • Conducting oneself in a professional business manner and acting as a professional representative of the hotel.
  • Volunteering and assisting other sales members to ensure departmental goals are met.
  • Ensuring Business Plan and related action plans are executed as established.
