About The Position

The Senior Sales Incentive Compensation Analyst is responsible for the administration, calculation, validation, reconciliation, and ongoing operational support of the Company’s sales incentive and commission programs. This role serves as a key partner to Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Payroll, HR, and Total Rewards to ensure sales compensation payments are accurate, timely, auditable, and administered consistently with approved plan provisions. The Senior Analyst will manage complex commission calculations and sales crediting arrangements, investigate and resolve compensation issues, maintain strong financial and operational controls, and provide analytical support for sales compensation forecasting and plan design changes. This position will also play an important role in improving and automating sales incentive compensation processes and supporting the continued evolution of the Company’s sales compensation technology and governance framework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Human Resources, Economics, Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in sales compensation, incentive compensation, commissions administration, compensation analytics, sales operations, finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience calculating and administering complex sales incentive or commission plans.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with large datasets, complex formulas, lookups, reconciliation processes, and analytical models.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience reconciling data across multiple systems and identifying data or calculation discrepancies.
  • Ability to interpret compensation plan provisions and translate them into accurate calculations and administrative processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex compensation calculations to employees and business leaders.
  • Ability to handle sensitive compensation information with appropriate discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Administer monthly, quarterly, and annual sales incentive and commission programs across multiple sales teams and plan structures.
  • Calculate commission and incentive payouts based on sales performance, attainment, crediting rules, commission rates, thresholds, accelerators, hurdles, and other applicable plan.
  • Validate sales production and performance data prior to calculating incentive.
  • Process approved commission adjustments, exceptions, recoveries, chargebacks, guarantees, draws, and other plan-specific transactions.
  • Support commission administration related to new hires, transfers, promotions, leaves of absence, terminations, and other employee changes.
  • Prepare final commission payment files and supporting documentation for Payroll.
  • Review sales crediting to ensure transactions are appropriately attributed to the correct salesperson, account, territory, region, or business unit.
  • Administer commission-sharing arrangements across sales teams, including shared accounts, split transactions, referrals, and cross-regional or cross-business transactions.
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Finance to reconcile differences between CRM, booking, revenue, gross profit, and commission data.
  • Investigate missing, duplicated, incorrectly credited, or otherwise anomalous sales.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation supporting manual adjustments, crediting decisions, and approved exceptions.
  • Perform pre-payment and post-payment commission reconciliations to ensure payment.
  • Develop and maintain commission calculation controls designed to minimize errors and ensure consistent application of sales compensation plan provisions.
  • Maintain complete and auditable documentation supporting commission calculations, adjustments, approvals, and payments.
  • Identify calculation discrepancies, data-quality issues, and potential commission overpayments or underpayments and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to sales.
  • Maintain historical commission records and calculation documentation in accordance with Company retention requirements.
  • Produce individual salesperson statements detailing performance, attainment, credited production, commission rates, adjustments, and incentive payouts.
  • Identify unusual payout patterns, outliers, or potential calculation issues requiring further.
  • Support Finance forecasting and accrual processes by providing projected, earned, and paid commission information.
  • Assist with commission modeling and scenario analysis associated with proposed changes to existing incentive compensation plans.
  • Provide data and analytical insights that help Sales and Total Rewards understand incentive performance and compensation outcomes.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for salesperson and sales leader questions regarding commission calculations and payments.
  • Research and resolve commission inquiries and disputes in a timely, accurate, and professional.
  • Clearly explain commission calculations, sales crediting decisions, and incentive plan mechanics to employees and business leaders.
  • Coordinate across Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, Finance, Payroll, HR, and Total Rewards to resolve commission-related issues.
  • Maintain an organized and auditable process for tracking commission inquiries, disputes, adjustments, and resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for sales incentive compensation.
  • Document commission calculation methodologies, source data, approval processes, and control.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual commission processes, strengthen controls, and improve data accuracy and administrative efficiency.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing administration of sales incentive compensation.
  • Assist with testing commission system configurations, calculation logic, integrations, and system.
  • Help establish consistent sales compensation administration practices across business units, regions, and sales teams.
  • Support annual and periodic sales compensation plan implementation, including plan setup, testing, participant readiness, and rollout activities.
