Senior Sales Engineer, Enterprise
About The Position
Fivetran is seeking a talented Senior Sales Engineer to join their Enterprise, Existing Business sales team. This role involves working closely with the sales team to understand complex business needs of Enterprise customers and demonstrating how Fivetran’s data replication solutions can help them achieve their desired business outcomes. The Sales Engineer will provide technical expertise, identify technical requirements, and manage a proof-of-value process throughout the sales cycle. Fivetran is merging with dbt Labs, combining two industry leaders to create a comprehensive data infrastructure layer. This is an exciting time to join a growing company focused on helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Requirements
- 5+ years in one of the following areas: data replication, data practitioner, data operations, analytics, sales engineering, or related technical field
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally to support large enterprise customers
- Strong technical background covering data replication, cloud infrastructure, data replication technologies, and/or database administration
- Experience with modern data analytics technologies, including cloud data warehouses, transformation tooling, data catalogs, and BI tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a keen ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server & SAP databases
- Basic python competency and advanced SQL knowledge
- Hands on experience with other data replication or ETL tools
- Experience with self-hosted software applications and supporting infrastructure
- Hands on networking experience both in the cloud and on-premise
Responsibilities
- Work with Enterprise customers to understand their business, their use cases, and their data replication and data transformation requirements
- Work cross functionally with internal counterparts (AEs, Professional Services, BDRs, marketing, and support) to build and maintain a holistic account ownership plan
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to Enterprise audiences
- Ensure the technical win by running a tight proof-of-value process
- Work closely with Fivetran+dbt’s Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of our solutions to Enterprise customer needs
- Develop and maintain relationships with key Enterprise customers and partners
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in our industry
