About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst with deep experience in sales and incentive compensation analytics. This role combines financial modeling, data analysis, program administration, and business partnership to support the governance and execution of monthly, quarterly and annual sales incentives and company bonus programs. The successful candidate will translate complex compensation data into actionable insights, evaluate financial and operational impacts, and influence decisions across Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, and senior leadership. This is a hybrid position, requiring 2 days per week in the office.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, sales compensation, incentive compensation, FP&A, sales operations, or a related analytical field, including at least 5 years supporting sales compensation programs.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Pivot, data validation, scenario and sensitivity modeling, and auditing of large financial models.
  • Advanced Power BI and Power Query skills, including data transformation and modeling, dashboard development, data-quality validation, and decision-ready reporting.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and compensation analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to organize complex data, identify trends and anomalies, evaluate business impacts, and present accurate, decision-ready insights.
  • Strong understanding of sales and incentive compensation concepts, including quota attainment, crediting rules, eligibility, thresholds, accelerators, caps, draws, guarantees, adjustments, and payout reconciliation.
  • Ability to influence decisions and build effective partnerships across Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, Legal, and senior leadership.
  • Sound judgment and attention to detail when evaluating data quality, interpreting plan provisions, and recommending resolutions to compensation issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Human Resources, Data Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting complex sales compensation programs across multiple plans, participant groups, or geographic regions is preferred.
  • Experience administering an incentive compensation platform such as Xactly Incent, Varicent, CaptivateIQ, or a comparable system, including data integration, rule configuration, testing, and issue resolution, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead compensation plan performance analysis, scenario modeling, and effectiveness reviews for senior leadership and Sales leaders, translating results into actionable recommendations.
  • Develop financial, statistical, scenario, and sensitivity models to forecast incentive expense, evaluate plan alternatives, quantify operational and financial impacts, and support compensation governance decisions.
  • Develop recurring performance reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that explain compensation results, payout trends, forecast-to-actual variances, and business impact to leadership.
  • Create scenario-based calculators to help the sales force estimate potential payouts based on specific deal attributes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely commission and bonus calculations by validating source data, reconciling system outputs, documenting exceptions, and maintaining effective financial and operational controls.
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, and Legal to model, design, document, implement, and evaluate commission and bonus plans, including eligibility, measures, payout curves, accelerators, caps, and financial cost.
  • Produce and analyze reports related to commissions to monitor performance and identify relevant trends.
  • Offer valuable insights and recommendations based on thorough analysis of commission data.
  • Audit, maintain, enhance, and refresh compensation databases and systems.
  • Support day-to-day ad hoc analytical data analysis.
  • Aggregate data to participate in compensation market surveys.
  • Investigate and resolve commission and bonus inquiries, payment discrepancies, and data exceptions by applying plan terms consistently, documenting conclusions, and communicating outcomes to employees and leadership.
  • Assist with the global commission and bonus payout process, including manual compensation adjustments, calculations, and approval processes.
  • Create mechanisms to improve process efficiency.
  • Perform complex data analysis to drive business process improvements.
  • Identify gaps in compensation data, workflows, and system controls, then design and implement automated solutions that improve accuracy, scalability, auditability, and processing efficiency.
  • Conduct global compensation market, geographic differential, cost-of-labor, and inflation analyses to support pay recommendations and maintain competitive, equitable compensation practices across locations.
