This role is responsible for coordinating, collecting, disseminating, and intervening in a manner that anticipates, prevents, identifies, evaluates, and controls hazards. The Senior Safety Officer will maintain continuous survey readiness through compliance with regulations from various regulatory agencies. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance of the Environment of Care (EOC) program, including fire, hazardous materials safety and security/waste/utilities/emergency management (EM). The role involves maintaining documentation of findings and improvements, identifying risks based on regulatory interpretation and other methods, and applying them to policy creation. The Senior Safety Officer will monitor potential and actual environmental hazards, participate in root and apparent cause analysis, and recommend remedial and corrective actions. Additionally, this role will lead emergency coordination (EC) rounding activities, EC/EM related education, and EOC/EM Committee(s).
